Woman Shot in Norwich

A woman was shot in Norwich on Monday night and police said it does not appear to be a random act of violence.

Police responded to 350 Central Avenue in the Greenville section of Norwich after receiving a 911 call reporting a shooting at 11:45 p.m. and found a 20-year-old woman who had been shot.

An ambulance brought her to William W. Backus Hospital, where she was treated, then released.

Police have not released the woman’s name, but said the incident was not random act and the investigation is ongoing.
