Woman Strikes Cruiser Head-On

A 27-year-old Danbury woman was pulled from her car after running head-on into a cruiser in New Milford on Thursday night, police said.

Police were trying to stop Lidia Quilligana with stop sticks on Route 7 near the New Milford-Brookfield line when she swerved toward a police cruiser and hit the car, police said.

Police received a report about someone driving erratically on Route 7 and saw the woman, who driving on rims after losing both driver’s side tires, police said.

Cops tried to stop Quilligana in a parking lot, but she fled on Route 7 and a police officer was placing stop sticks in the road to stop her when Quilligana hit the car, police said.

Quilligana was pulled from her car and taken to Danbury Hospital to be treated for her injuries.

The officer received minor injuries. He was treated and released.

Charges are pending an investigation.
