Name of Worker Killed in Fall from Roof Released

The man was replacing skylights at a condo complex, police said.

Shelton police and OSHA are investigating after Francisco Amaral, 46, of Bridgeport, fell 39 feet from the roof of a Shelton condominium complex on Tuesday while replacing skylights.

Shelton Police and EMS responded to the Sunwood Condominium Complex right after noon after receiving a 911 call reporting that a worker had fallen from a rooftop and they Amaral lying on the ground unresponsive.

He was transported to Bridgeport Hospital, where he later died.

Police said Amaral was working on a roof, replacing skylights for J C Silva Remolding Services of Bridgeport, police said, and this appears to be an accidental death.

Detectives are interviewing other workers at the site.
