World number one Brooks Koepka said he was yawning on the golf course today, not because he's bored, but because, in his words, he's dead tired.
It showed Saturday with Koepka shooting his worst round of the tournament at two over 72.
He said he's still feeling the exhaustion from the PGA Tournament, nevermind last week's U.S. Open. And even though he turned it around after winning the open last year to come to Cromwell, he said this year has been tougher.
"Last year, winning and then coming here, we knew it was a grind. This year, same thing. This year was probably more of a mental grind. I mean, I've committed to the event, no point backing out," Koepka said. "I like this tournament. It's a fun event to play, just hard to judge weeks in advance how you're going to play."
