AG Lauds Google-Yahoo Trustbust

Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal LAW ’73 commended the Justice Department on Wednesday for “killing” the proposed Google-Yahoo advertising deal, as he put it in a statement. He said there were “insurmountable” antitrust issues with deal and called its demise a “victory for consumers,” since it will prevent prices from rising while ensuring the maximum number of options for buyers. “I commend and thank the U.S. Justice Department for working closely with my office and other state attorneys general to investigate this deal,” he said. “A solid partnership between state and federal law-enforcement authorities has proven its power.”
