Yale Architecture School Receives $5M in Gehry's Honor

The Yale School of Architecture has received a gift of $5 million to support scholarships in celebration of the 90th birthday of architect Frank Gehry.

The school says it's the largest gift toward financial aid in its history.

Real estate developer Richard D. Cohen made the donation to mark Gehry's birthday on Feb. 28.

Gehry has taught architecture at Yale as a visiting faculty member in stints since 1979. He most recently led a class on architectural aspects of criminal justice reform in the fall 2017 semester.

Gehry Scholarships will be awarded annually to three master's students for support of their graduate studies and to travel to Los Angeles to see the workings of Gehry's architecture firm.
