1st Look Loves “Potted Potter”

1st Look brought you coverage of the International Quidditch Association a while back, and now the latest news is of the return engagement of the hilarious hit off-Broadway show “Potted Potter: The Unauthorized Harry Experience — A Parody by Dan and Jeff," an absolutely welcome respite from the soul-crushing heat of late.

Written and performed by former BBC Television hosts Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner, the Olivier Award-winning play takes on the ultimate challenge of condensing, or “potting” all seven Harry Potter books into 70 madcap minutes, aided only by multiple costume changes, brilliant songs, ridiculous props and a generous helping of Hogwarts magic. The show also invites audiences to engage with a real life game of Quidditch, according to Clarkson and Turner’s unique set of rules. All done brilliantly to roaring laughter.

The New York Times and New York Magazine have made the show a Critics Pick, and the show appeals to anyone and everyone, whether you are an HP super fan or you know nothing of a Horcrux or a Hufflepuff.

Corey Ross, president of Starvox Entertainment producing the show, said “After a wildly successful extended run at New York’s Little Shubert Theater last season, an incredibly successful national tour and an ongoing production in London, we are so excited to return to NYC where we were so warmly welcomed last year.”

The limited 13-week New York engagement runs through Sunday, September 1st, 2013 — for more information and ticketing specs, go to PottedPotter.com.
