A group of Florida Atlantic University students caught a 14-foot hammerhead shark in Broward County, according to NBC affiliate WPTV.
The shark was caught last week by Viktor Hluben and a group of friends who went on a shark fishing trip. The group, dubbed Landshark Fishing, specializes in nighttime fishing for large sharks.
"We knew we had a giant fish on. We battled it for about an hour and 30 minutes, and when we saw the massive dorsal fin, we knew we hooked a giant shark," Hluben told WPTV.
The giant shark weighed roughly 700 pounds and was released back into the ocean after a brief photo session.
"The only thing I was thinking in my head was 'pictures, video, quick, and get it back in the water,'" Hluben told WPTV.
A video of the shark catching was posted to YouTube last week and has over 410,000 views.
