From Yosemite to the Everglades, the U.S. is dotted with 408 beautiful national parks that usually cost a few dollars to enter.

Not today. Aug. 25, 2015, is the National Park Service's 99th birthday. As a present to all Americans, admission to the parks is free.

Want to find the nearest national park to you? The National Park Service and National Park Foundation created a handy "Plan Your Adventure" guide that maps all the national parks and more in your area.

"These national treasures belong to all of us, and we want everyone – especially the next generation of park visitors, supporters and advocates – to discover and connect with their national parks,” said National Park Service Director Jonathan B. Jarvis in a statement.

Have plans this Tuesday? There are three more free entrance days this year: National Public Lands Day, on Sept. 26, and Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

And you can catch up on what others are enjoying by searching #FindYourPark on social media.
