Teens Accused of Trying to Steal Wagon Full of Girl Scout Cookies

Two older teens tried to steal a wagon full of Girl Scout cookies from the girls trying to sell them in Maryland, police say.

The girls, ages 12 and 13, were selling the cookies in the 7900 block of Jason's Landing Way in Severn on Saturday when they stepped away briefly.

When the girls looked back, they saw a man taking the wagon full of cookies down the street toward a waiting vehicle, said Anne Arundel County Police.

Police say the 13-year-old girl chased the teenagers and grabbed the wagon. The pair jumped into a car and fled.

But a nearby homeowner heard the girls yelling that their cookies were being stolen, got in his car and followed the two teens while dialing police.

Police found the suspects' vehicle at the Gulf gas station on Annapolis Road in Odenton.

The suspects were arrested and charged with theft under $1,000.

Authorities identified them as Gabriel Taylor Smith, 18, of Odenton, and a 17-year-old from Odenton whose name has not been released.
