Just days after a deadly house fire, a Fort Worth family is suffering again. A fire on Rockdale Road killed a 9-year-old boy Thursday, and now police say the family's home was picked over by thieves.

Police arrested 76-year-old Willie Ray Young on suspicion of stealing some of the family's belongings after the fire, police said.

A neighbor told NBC 5 she saw several men loading items onto two pickup trucks in front of the damaged home early Saturday morning. She thought it was suspicious, so she wrote down the license plate numbers and called police.

That tip led investigators to Young, who was found at a house only five minutes away from the home that caught fire.

He's accused of taking a washer, dryer and a barbecue pit from the property, police said.

Neighbors said they were upset that someone would take advantage of the family's misfortunes.

"It's a sad thing to think of," said Laquacious Baskin, who lives in the neighborhood. "You think the situation's already sad, but then to come back to know that some of your belongings aren't there."

Young is being charged with theft and there could be more people arrested in connection to this case, police said.
