Woman Wanted in Botched Illegal Penis Procedure Caught: Police

A woman wanted for allegedly performing a series of illegal surgical procedures on a South Florida man that left him with a severely deformed penis has been arrested, authorities said.

Nery Carvajal-Gonzalez, 48, was arrested Monday on charges including practicing medicine without a license and causing serious injury by an unlicensed health care professional.

Carvajal-Gonzalez was being held without bond Tuesday, Miami-Dade Jail records showed. It was unknown if she's hired an attorney.

A warrant was issued for Carvajal-Gonzalez's arrest after the arrest of Mark David Schreiber earlier this month. Schreiber, a former surgeon, is facing a charge of unlicensed practice of health care related to the case.

When the case first surfaced, Carvajal-Gonzalez went to Colombia, but she agreed to return and was arrested at the airport, authorities said.

According to the arrest warrant, the victim and Carvajal-Gonzalez first met in late 2012 and early 2013, when Carvajal-Gonzalez would frequent the salon he worked at to sell her injectable filler and cosmetic facial services.

Eventually the man went to her Hialeah warehouse location and paid Carvajal for several procedures including gluteal injections, chin injections, and he even took his mother to get permanent makeup done by Carvajal-Gonzalez, the warrant said.

In March 2014, the victim decided to go forward with a penis enlargement procedure, and Carvajal-Gonzalez told the victim she would inject a filler into his penis, the report said. He paid $1,500 for this procedure.

About one hour after the injections, the victim described his penis as appearing deformed. Over the course of the next year, the victim went to see Carvajal-Gonzalez so she could extract the filler, however, the victim told authorities Carvajal-Gonzalez had him meet with Schreiber, who was introduced as Dr Mark, the warrant said.

The report said the victim paid Schreiber $1,000 to surgically remove the filler from his penis and that after he awoke from sedation he saw blood-soaked bandages. The victim also told detectives Schreiber said what he was experiencing was normal.

The man alleges his penis is now severely deformed, he has no sensation during urination, and is unable to engage in sexual relations, the warrant said.

Carvajal-Gonzalez, like Schreiber, is not licensed to practice medicine in the state of Florida, the warrant said.
