Attorney: Molestation Charge Against Shane Sparks ‘Reeks Of Exploitation'

"America's Best Dance Crew" judge Shane Sparks is fighting back against charges of alleged child molestation.

On Friday, the LAPD confirmed to Access Hollywood that Sparks – whose real name is Melvin Hall — had been arrested at his home in North Hollywood and was being held on $590,000 bail before posting bail on Saturday night.

But an attorney for the 40-year-old choreographer says his client will be cleared of any wrongdoing.

"Shane Sparks is innocent, he knows it and soon the world will know it. We are going to fight this tooth and nail," Sparks' attorney Steve Meister told Access.

In fact, Meister believes the claims against the "Dance Crew" judge could be chalked up to attempted extortion.

"It's a bogus accusation that reeks of opportunism and exploitation. The timing is beyond suspicious, and this whole thing stinks to high heaven," he added. "We are going to fight to clear his name, and we are going to succeed."

In addition to MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew," Sparks previously served as a judge and choreographer on multiple seasons of FOX's "So You Think You Can Dance" (which earned him an Emmy nomination) and worked on the film "You Got Served."

A spokesperson for MTV would not comment on the arrest when contacted by Access.
