The FBI and San Bernardino law enforcement authorities held a press conference Tuesday asking for the public's help in filling an 18-minute gap in the movements of San Bernardino shooting suspects Syed Farook and Tashmin Malik on the day of the incident.
David Bowdich, the special agent in charge of the Los Angeles office, told reporters they were looking for any video that would capture the suspects between 12:59 p.m. and 1:17 p.m. on the day of the shooting, Dec. 2.
The FBI released images of the vehicle and license plate of the SUV used by the couple and a map of the area where they were believed to have traveled.
Bowdich told reporters that as of Tuesday, FBI investigators believe the shootings, which have been described as terrorism, were inspired acts but that there was no indication they were foreign directed.
He said investigators have conducted 500 interviews, collected 500 pieces of evidence and executed 29 search warrants.
San Bernardino Sheriff John McMahon said that the incident and its aftermath had cost San Bernadino County at least $4 million in lost business, overtime and lost work time for employees.
