New rules on Internet traffic that the Federal Communications Commission looks to propose would essentially end "net neutrality," NBC News reported. "Net neutrality" is the idea that all traffic on an Internet provider's network should be given the same priority. Under the new rules, one company could pay an Internet provider for faster service on its network, possibly hurting websites that can't afford the toll.
