Giuliana Rancic's Husband: “She's Doing Well”

The E! News Host Showing Positive Signs During Recovery

Giuliana Rancic, the E! News host who recently revealed on the "Today" show that she has breast cancer, underwent her first major surgery and is now recovering at home.

The 37-year-old had a double lumpectomy following a two-hour MRI to locate the cancerous tumors. Her husband, Bill, gave "Today" an update this morning on her status.

"She's a trooper, she pulled through it and was kind of relieved to get it over with and get the cancer out and is doing well at home," he said. "I'm adding nurse to my resume now."

He added that Rancic's recovery prognosis remained very good. "We're viewing this as a gift. It was caught very very early and we're going back to the doctor tomorrow. They had to remove a couple of lymph nodes and we're hoping we get a report tomorrow."

When asked how Giuliana was coping, Bill was adamant that she is going into the treatment process with a positive outlook.

"She's really viewing life a little bit differently. It's funny when you go through a situation like this, it really turns the volume down on the things that really aren't that important."
