Hillary Clinton: Same-Sex Marriage a “Constitutional Right”

Hillary Clinton urged the Supreme Court to rule in favor of allowing same-sex marriage nationwide, calling it a "constitutional right" in a statement confirmed to NBC News Wednesday. "Hillary Clinton supports marriage equality and hopes the Supreme Court will come down on the side of same-sex couples being guaranteed that constitutional right," Clinton campaign spokesperson Adrienne Elrod said in the statement, first published in the Washington Blade. Clinton's stance marks a shift from a contentious June 2014 interview with NPR, when she said the issue of same-sex marriage was best decided by states.
