Hollywood Hits Social Media for Oscars Red Carpet Fashion

Hollywood's brightest stars took to social media to share what it takes to prepare for their big night on the Oscars red carpet.

Country singer Tim McGraw posted a photo of himself on Instagram showing him getting his nails done. He strutted the red carpet, notably without his signature cowboy hat, and posed for photos alongside his wife Faith Hill who wore a cream J. Mendel gown.

Red, pink and coral hues were favorites on the red carpet this year.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" star Dakota Johnson wow'd with a stunning, simple but spectacular, red Saint Laurent dress. So much so you may not not have noticed her mother actress Melanie Griffith by her side in an elegant black gown.

It wasn't just the ladies in red, "Selma" star David Oyelowo sported a red Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo.

Lupita Nyong'o stunned in a custom Calvin Klein dress constructed with thousands of pearls. Other noteworthy looks include Nicole Kidman in an off-white Louis Vuitton; Jennifer Lopez in a blush Elie Saab; Lady Gaga in a custom Azzedine Alaia, Julianne Moore in Chanel Couture; and Neil Patrick Harris in a Brunello Cucinelli tuxedo.

The most talked about star of the night was Zoe Saldana who graced the stage in a pink Atelier Versace. It's the first time Saldana has been seen on the red carpet since giving birth to twin sons.

Reese Witherspoon pledged her support to #AskHerMore from the red carpet. The social media campaign was started to nudge reporters to ask female stars more questions than only what designer dress they're wearing.

At showtime, Witherspoon tweeted a photo of her gown including the designer's name -- Tom Ford -- and her stylists' names.
