Host Brazil Is Unprepared for the 2016 Olympics

World Cup host country Brazil in just two years will play host to an even bigger event, the 2016 Olympic Games. But the country is unprepared — stadiums haven't been built, a golf course is still a brown field and Rio's Olympic Bay, which will be the playing ground for sailors and windsurfers, is "a sea of sewage," according to one environmental campaigner. Although the Olympic village is well underway, everywhere else, federal, state and city officials are making little progress. John Coates, vice president of the International Olympic Committee, said Brazil's preparations are "the worst ever."
