Hugh Jackman, Marshawn Lynch Lead Oakland Students in Football Drill

Actor Hugh Jackman teamed up with ex-NFL player Marshawn Lynch Saturday to coach a group of high school students in Oakland.

Jackman was in the Bay Area to promote his upcoming movie "Eddie The Eagle," which is based on the true story of an underdog British ski-jumper — Michael Edwards aka Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards — who made it to the Olympics in 1988.

The Australian movie star said it was great to play with and inspire the teenagers at Oakland Tech High School, especially alongside Lynch, a former running back with the Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks.

"I’m a fan of his and it was great," Jackman said. "You know it’s great seeing him give back at this point of his career. I’m a big sports fan. I love being in a movie like this."

Eddie is a "different kind" of hero who had "no support" and "no money" and yet "just followed his dreams," Jackman said of his character in the upcoming film.

"He did it his way – not dissimilar to Marshawn," he said.
