“Jon Benjamin Has a Van” Hitting the Road in Summer 2012

Jon Benjamin has followed up his first Emmy nomination with word that he's got yet another series on the way.

A 10-episode run of "Jon Benjamin Has a Van" will begin next summer on Comedy Central, which means he now leads three shows.

"The show is largely scripted with a touch of improv," Kent Alterman, head of original programming at Comedy Central, told Deadline. “It has its own identity and comes out of Jon finding different ways to tell stories."

Alterman first developed a project with Benjamin during his first stint at Comedy Central as head of the New York development office a decade ago.

On Thursday Benjamin was nominated for an Emmy for his work voicing super-spy Sterling Archer on FX's "Archer," a magnificently profane and hilarious show about a family-owned spy shop. Co-starring the voices of Aisha Tyler, Jessica Walter, Chris Parnell and Judy Greer, it is appointment television for anyone who likes crude humor.

In the fall Fox will unveil its new prime-time cartoon "Bob's Burgers," for which Benjamin voices Bob Belcher, patriarch of a burger-joint family (disclosure: we're friends with one of the writers).

Benjamin got his start voicing cartoons on Comedy Central's dearly departed "Dr. Katz," as the title character's layabout son, Ben.
