“Men in Black III” Coming in 3D

Apparently we on Earth are still in peril from dangerous alien life form. Fortunately we have Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones coming back for "Men in Black III."

Get those cool sunglasses ready along with a pair of 3D specs as well.

Columbia pictures announced today that Smith will return to the role of secret agent protecting earthlings from sinister life forms, while  Jones is in "advanced negotiations" for his hard guy role as Agent Kay.

Barry Sonnefeld, who directed the first two box office hits in 1997 and 2002, will return for the third.

The production will begin by the fall and the 3D follow-up will hit screens for Memorial Day 2012. The noise is only just beginning on this.

Jeff Blake, Chairman of Sony Pictures Worldwide Marketing and Distribution promised a "fresh, fun twist for fans" in the release. And in this age of dredged up sequels, we could certainly use a little more fresh -- however much fun the "Men in Black" series was.

Perhaps they give a clue with Josh Brolin's character -- he plays a younger version of Agent Kay. Whether it's flashback or some sort of alien mind stuff is something we'll have to wait to see.
