Michael Fassbender Joins Noomi Rapace for “Prometheus”

The meteoric rise of Michael Fassbender continues with a role opposite one of Hollywood's other hot up-sand-comers.

Fassbender has joined Noomi Rapace ("The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo") in Ridley Scott's "Prometheus," reported Heat Vision. Fassbender will play an android in the film, which was originally meant as a prequel to "Alien."

We like the cast well enough, and we think Ridley Scott may still have something left in the tank, but if the script were so great, wouldn't just be the Alien" sequel?

The role in "Prometheus," however, means Fassbender is currently in London shooting "X-Men: First Class," and can be seen in the new "Jane Eyre" beginning March 11, and the Steven Soderbergh "Haywire" on April 22.

Rapace, meanwhile, is at work shooting "Sherlock Holmes 2," opposite Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law, which is slated for a December release.
