In the battle of the weekend box office, aliens are poised to do better than an animated chameleon.
“Battle: Los Angeles,” the sci-fi movie in which a platoon led by a Marine seargent (played by Aaron Eckhart) faces off against an alien invasion, is expected to possibly make over $38 million this weekend, said The Hollywood Reporter. It made about $13.5 million on Friday and opened in 3,417 theatres across the country.

The Matt Damon vehicle, “The Adjustment Bureau,” which made about $3.4 million on Friday, held fourth place.
Finally, Disney’s “Mars Needs Moms” took in a $1.7 million so far, a number described by The Hollywood Reporter as “dismal,” since the movie cost $150 million to make.
