Brooks & Dunn Done For

Country duo calls it quits after two decades

Brooks & Dunn are done - for good.

The best-selling country duo announced their breakup on their Web site Monday, saying it was time for the band to call it quits

"After 20 years of making music and riding this trail together, we have agreed as a duo that it's time [to] call it a day," Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn wrote.

"This ride has been everything and more than we could have dreamed...We owe it all to you, the fans," the site read.

The twosome, who have sold more than 30 million records and have had 23 #1 country hits, said their breakup was about nothing more than timing.

"If you hear rumors, don't believe them, it's just time," they wrote.

The band, formed in 1990, is the highest-selling duo in country music.

Brooks & Dunn said they will release another CD of their #1 hits with additional material on Sept. 8th and will host their final tour, The Last Rodeo Tour, in 2010.
