Music legends Janet Gaynor, Judy Garland, and Barbara Streisand have all stared in versions of this film. And Beyonce could be next.

Hollywood superstar Clint Eastwood is in talks with Warner Bros. about a remake of classic film "A Star is Born" starring the "Single Ladies" hitmaker, sources told The Hollywood Reporter.

Warner Bros. is reportedly still looking for a male lead to star opposite Beyonce. Will Smith was originally eyed for that role, Warner Bros. officials said, but Deadline speculates that Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, Eddie Murphy, and Robert Downey Jr. are also in the mix for consideration.

The flick follows the general storyline of a has-been celebrity who falls in love and helps an up-and coming star with her career, and this version would take place in the music world.

This wouldn't be the first time Beyonce has taken to the big screen. The R&B songstress received acclaim for her starring role in "Dreamgirls" (2006), where she also played an aspiring singer. The singer has also starred opposite Mike Meyers in "Austin Powers in Goldmember" as Foxxy Cleopatra.

Eastwood has made a name for himself as a director for dramatic Hollywood hits including "Changeling," "Million Dollar Baby," and "Grand Torino."
