A father of five was killed Tuesday in a daytime shooting in Boston's Back Bay.
Family and colleagues are mourning the death of cab driver Oruma Luckinson, who was shot at the intersection of Huntington Avenue and West Newton Street.
Police responded around 11 a.m. Luckinson was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
"When we finally kind of realized it was him, we were quiet for a minute realizing he's not coming in at shift time," said Eddie Summers, Luckinson's boss at the Independent Taxi Operators Association. "He'd go out, work 10 hours for six days a week. You get to know a guy."
Those who worked with Luckinson are thinking about his family.
"He left for work to put bread on his table. He was just a peach of a guy. We're all devastated," said Joe Litvack, the association's treasurer.
"He's got five kids. A wife. They all depend on him," said Summers. "It's going to be a sad, sad loss."

Police on scene said they received information that the suspect had fled the area in a taxi cab and were quickly able to canvass the area.
A short time later, police arrested Phillip Foy, 34, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, in the area of 1 Ring Road.
Foy is expected to be arraigned Wednesday in Boston Municipal Court on charges of murder, armed carjacking and unlawful possession of a firearm. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
