Weekend Plans: New York Lets You Play with Your Food

If our "Play with Your Food" episode got your appetite going, and your adventurous side too, well lucky you! There's an encore presentation this weekend after "Saturday Night Live." Don't miss it!

But if you also just so happen to be in the New York area this weekend, there are some incredible foodie adventures happening away from the TV set, too.

Right now, there's a ScoutMob available for all you closet molecular mixologist out there. GenSpace Lab is offering a course in getting-to-know your cocktail-side while delving into the DNA of some bar favorites in their Brooklyn laboratory. And here, there are no rules about drinking from the beakers, we promise.

On Randall's Island, Frieze Art Fair is coming to town May 4-7. This festival brings "the most-forward-thinking galleries from around the globe" where you'll explore interactive installations, panel discussions, and oh yeah, did we mention the food? Throughout the day, give your eyes a break from the art and feast on the culinary masterpieces from Frankie's, The Fat Radish, Roberta's, The Biergarten at The Standard, and more. Tickets must be purchased in advanced and are available here.

In Prospect Park, bands will literally be playing with food in a couple of week's at The Great GoogaMooga Festival, on May 19 and 20. And, if the festival just isn't enough, get in on some Extra Mooga (here's a sneak peek)--Googamooga's exclusive behind-the-scenes party hosted by the culinary world's MVC's (Most Valuable Chefs…yes, we made that up).

If May 19th isn't coming fast enough for you, get in on our #1stLookSweeps giveaway this weekend to win tickets to this must-go-to event.  Find out more on how to enter for a chance to win on our twitter page!

Happy Eating!
