Thursday Watch List: THIS IS MADNESS!

Welcome to Watch List, where we identify five things on TV to watch while you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by drinking a can of Pledge and antagonizing everyone around you. LET’S GO!

NCAA TOURNAMENT – All Day starting at 12:15PM (CBS, TNT, TBS, truTV) Don’t you just love it when the first full day of the NCAA tourney coincides with St. Patrick’s Day? It’s like taking one excuse to drink and multiplying it with another and then exploding a beer vat on the street. By 4PM today, your entire office may have alcohol poisoning. I love it. Now, there are some things you need to know about the tournament’s TV coverage this year. First off, if you’re stuck at work, you can watch the tourney online at cbssports.com. Secondly, if you’re watching on TV, the tourney games have been split up between CBS, TNT, TBS, and truTV. That means you’re going to have the power to cut away from lousy games all day long, instead of praying that Greg Gumbel makes the right choice for you. So sit back and enjoy. It’s a gorgeous day for beer and basketball. ANTICIPATION: MADNESS!

KATHY GRIFFIN: 50 AND NOT PREGNANT – 9:00PM (Bravo – an NBC/Universal network) If you’re the polar opposite of a college basketball fan, then why not flip over to Bravo for an all-new Kathy Griffin stand-up special? Expect many a Charlie Sheen joke. ANTICIPATION: BOTOX!

BLOND VS. BEAR – 10:00PM (Animal Planet) Oh, my money is definitely on the bear. It’s like rock-paper-scissors. Bear beats blonde. Blonde beats traffic ticket. Traffic ticket angers bear. Anyway, this new series profile Ann Bryant, a bear protector (aren’t bears pretty good at protecting themselves?) in Lake Tahoe trying to prevent human-bear clashes. No clue why she’d do that. Clashes between humans and bears are crazy awesome. There are honey jars thrown and limbs bitten off… it’s really something. ANTICIPATION: NATURE!

THE DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART – 11:00PM (Comedy Central) Thrice yearly, Jon Stewart is contractually obligated to bring on a guest who won’t put you right to sleep. Tonight, he fulfills that obligation by having Howard Stern on. ANTICIPATION: BABA BOOEY TO Y’ALL!

30 ROCK – 10:00PM (NBC) Susan Sarandon guest stars. And if you saw “Solitary Man,” you know just a little dash of Susan Sarandon makes everything 3% classier than it ought to be. ANTICIPATION: COUGARS!
