Woman Accused of Urinating on Potatoes in Pa. Walmart Turns Herself In

Grace Brown is facing multiple charges including criminal mischief, open lewdness and public drunkenness

Authorities say a woman suspected of urinating on potatoes at a Walmart in Pennsylvania has turned herself in.

West Mifflin police say 20-year-old Grace Brown is facing multiple charges including criminal mischief, open lewdness and public drunkenness.

Police said in news release that an officer responded to the store in West Mifflin on July 25 after a Walmart employee reported seeing urine near the potatoes a night earlier. The officer checked surveillance video and saw footage depicting a female relieving herself in the potato bins at about 10:10 p.m. ET on July 24.

A Walmart representative has said the company "immediately disposed of the affected products and sanitized the area."

Police posted surveillance photos of the incident on Twitter. West Mifflin police said Brown, accompanied by her attorney Casey White, turned herself in Tuesday after learning that authorities were looking for her.

Asked by reporters why Brown relieved herself on the produce, White said he can't comment on why exactly "she did what she allegedly did" and that the incident was not his client's attempt to "taint or tamper" with food.

Police said Brown appeared visibly intoxicated in the surveillance video.

The incident comes weeks after video posted on social media showed people licking ice cream from freezers at Walmarts in Texas and Louisiana.
