Sarah Palin, Help Simmons: Coulter

It appears conservative commentator Ann Coulter is not a big fan of Connecticut Republican Senate hopeful Linda McMahon.

Coulter thinks another Republican, Rob Simmons, has a much better shot at defeating Democratic nominee Richard Blumenthal in November. So she's asking GOP superstar Sarah Palin to use her influence in Connecticut.

Palin endorsed three candidates in Republican primaries this week, and all three, Nikki Haley of South Carolina, Carly Fiorina in California, and Sharron Angle of Nevada won their respective races.

"Now she's got to endorse Rob Simmons for U.S. Senate," Coulter wrote in her Tuesday blog. "Otherwise, Republicans can kiss the possibility of a major upset in Connecticut goodbye."

She says up until a few weeks ago, "Republicans didn't have a snowball's chance to pick up Chris Dodd's old seat anyway," but the political pundit says the GOP is wasting an opportunity to capitalize on Blumenthal's "misstatements" about his service in Vietnam.

"Connecticut Republicans have done nothing to deserve this gift," Coulter wrote about Blumenthal's troubles. "All they need to do is field a candidate who isn't inextricably linked to professional frigging wrestling."

Connecticut's GOP nominated McMahon at their convention last month.  She has pledged to spend $50 Million of her own money on her campaign.  Simmons received enough delegates at the convention to force a primary, and although he'll remain on the ballot for an August primary, he's suspended his campaign because he's low on cash

Coulter believes Simmons, a decorated Vietnam veteran, can beat Blumenthal. Now she's looking for Palin's Midas touch. "If only we had some popular former governor, preferably a moose hunter, whose endorsements are gold."
