Connecticut freshman guard Caroline Doty will miss the rest of the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee in Saturday's win over Syracuse.
A MRI exam showed that Doty tore the ACL, the school announced Sunday. It's the same knee that was surgically repaired in September 2007.
Doty, who had 17 first-half points in the 107-53 win Saturday, went down while trying to grab a pass on a fast break just before intermission. She has started every game for the top-ranked Huskies and was averaging 8 points.
UConn takes on No. 2 North Carolina on Monday night in Chapel Hill.
