Gronkowski and Bieber Hung Out

There goes the season. Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and Justin Bieber were seen hanging out in the Los Angeles Clippers' locker room on Monday night.

The Patriots, coming off Sunday's loss to the Packers in Green Bay, are in California all week preparing to face the Chargers. And while there's certainly nothing wrong with taking in a Clippers game on your day off, the Steelers got a surprise visit from Bieber last month, the day before a game against the hapless Jets ... and New York went on to dominate Pittsburgh.

Coincidence? Maybe. But why risk it?

Of course, Gronkowski probably doesn't believe in curses (in fact, curses are likely more afraid of getting Gronk'd), so maybe there's nothing to see here. Well, other than a Gronk-Bieber photo op.

(And for what it's worth, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger didn't blame the Curse for Bieber for the loss. "That's not a big deal at all," he said at the time. ... "People stop by all of the time and say, 'Hi,' and we've had other athletes, actors, celebrities, stuff like that stop by. It's not a big deal at all."

As for spending the entire week in California, Patriots players welcome the change of scenery.

"It's an opportunity for us to clear our minds, spend a lot of time together and just focus on the task at hand of playing the Chargers this week," Matthew Slater said, via ESPN. "I think you are right that it is a bit of a team-building experience. Hopefully we can make the most of it."

And Dan Connelly added: "It definitely has the feeling of training camp where we are all together. But it's important for us to not be distracted by other things that are going on out here and realize we have a job to do this week. We have to treat it as much like a normal week as we can and still prepare for the game that we have on Sunday."
