The Hartford Yard Goats will play as the Hartford Whirly Birds on Thursday, June 28.  The name was the runner-up in the team's original naming contest before moving from Hartford to New Britain in 2016.  It's all part of the "What If?" Night festivities.

The team will be giving away red Whirly Birds caps to the first 1,500 fans at Dunkin' Donuts Park for the game.

The Richmond Flying Squirrels, the Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, are in town for the 7:05 p.m. game.

Despite a rainy day forecasted, the weather is expected to clear around game time.  A rain delay to start the game is possible though, according to the NBC CT First Alert Weather team.
