Fridays in the NFL are usually about injury reports and talk about the opponent in the coming game.
The Jets, as always, beat to their own drummer. Friday's headline wasn't that Darrelle Revis will play or that Dustin Keller probably won't, because those things can't hold a candle to Bart Scott breaking his media boycott just long enough to threaten a reporter in the locker room.
The altercation went down following Jets practice and was recounted with breathless immediacy by Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post on Twitter. The quick and dirty version is that Dan Leberfeld, who publishes Jets Confidential, ticked Scott off by taking his picture with a smartphone -- the second time he's upset Scott by doing so -- and then devolved into threats of physical violence and lawsuits.
There wasn't any circus music playing in the background -- Fridays are slow jam days in the Jets locker room -- but there might as well have been. This team can't seem to go a week without a ridiculous moment on or off the field. They actually doubled down this week.
Tim Tebow's got his shirt off again in photos released by Vogue that are in the magazine's latest issue, which could be why Dolphins receiver Brian Hartline compared the Jets' backup quarterback/punt team member to the Kardashians. We'll give Tebow the edge in actual talent over the reality TV and sex tape stars, but they definitely do inhabit the same orbit of celebrity -- the one that is wildly out of whack with actual accomplishments.
The fun never stops, does it? It almost makes you wonder when they find the time to play a football game.
Ah, but there is a game this week and, as mentioned on Thursday, it's one that the Jets really need to win if they want to make a serious run at a playoff spot this season. The Dolphins have a few strengths, but many more weaknesses that the Jets should be able to exploit on Sunday afternoon.

If they can't do that, they might as well go all in on the circus stuff. It's going to be a long season either way, so, if nothing else, the Jets could be entertaining.
