Elin Reluctant to Show Up at Masters for Tiger's Return: Report

Tiger Woods' wife is resisting pressure to appear at her husband's much anticipated return to golf at the Masters tournament next week, a source told People.com

"Elin [Nordegren] does not want to go to the Masters and is preparing for a trip to see her family and friends in Sweden," said the source, whom People described as being close to Nordegren. "She is also being asked by Tiger to attend the Masters, even if for a half day, to look like she is interested in supporting his return to golf. But she would rather not be there."

According to the source, Nordegren is planning to fly to Sweden on a commercial flight and keep a low profile during what is sure to be a media circus. Woods has been seen in public sparingly since the news of his multiple affairs broke.

The Masters in Augusta, Georgia will mark his return to the links after a long lay-off in the aftermath of the scandal.

"Tiger's [private] plane is too 'in your face' for her now," the source says. "She really does not want to go to Augusta, and it is easier for her to be far away than home in Orlando."
