Hey Favre, Pennington is Coming to Town

The most anticipated quarterback showdown for week 17 in the NFL doesn't involve Tony Romo or Donovan McNabb; and Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are nowhere to be found. No, this week's showdown is all about Brett Favre and Chad Pennington.

Pennington, jettisoned from New York in August to make room for Favre, can get revenge against his former team and the man who took his job Sunday and prove once and for all that he's a solid NFL QB. The Jets need a win and a loss by New England or Baltimore to make the playoffs while Miami only needs to beat the Jets to go from the worst team in the NFL last year to a playoff team this year. Could the quarterback have made the difference?

The aftershocks of Pennington's release have had five months to simmer down, and though emotions will be running wild again Sunday, the Dolphins believe the former New York quarterback will keep his cool.

The question is: Will Favre?

The former Green Bay Packer's quarterback leads the league this year in interceptions with 19, while Pennington (who has just 7 interceptions versus 17 touchdowns) ranks second in the league in QB rating. It seems like Pennington has had the better season. Only one of these quarterbacks will make it to the postseason.
