Unfair Advantage? Patriots Announce Super Bowl Jersey Color

Will the color of the jerseys the New England Patriots wear in the Super Bowl impact how they play? Probably not, but with nearly two weeks till the big game, fans need something to talk about.

The Patriots announced Tuesday that they have elected to wear their white "away' uniforms despite being the so-called "home team" in this year's Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Patriots pointed out on social media that the team is 3-0 while wearing white in Super Bowls under head coach Bill Belichick, and 3-1 overall. ESPN's Adam Schefter also pointed out that the team wearing white jerseys has won the Super Bowl in 12 of the last 13 seasons.

This is the Patriots' 10th overall trip to the Super Bowl. They're shooting for their sixth Super Bowl title.

The Jacksonville Jaguars collapsed in the fourth quarter of the AFC Championship game on Sunday as the Patriots came back to beat the visiting team 24-20.

"On the one hand, we could have won the game," Jacksonville linebacker Myles Jack told reporters after the game. "But on the other, Tom Brady is Tom Brady. We got Tom Brady'd again."

The Patriots face the Eagles on Feb. 4 in Super Bowl LII. The game kicks off at 6:30 p.m. on NBC10 Boston.
