Wesleyan Football Wins 15th Little Three Title in Overtime Thriller

The Wesleyan Cardinals are the 2019 Little Three Champions. They defeated the Williams Ephs 27-21 in an exciting overtime finish.

Sophomore wide receiver/quarterback David Estevez scored three of the Cards' four touchdowns, including the game-tying run with 17 seconds left and the overtime winner.

"I didn't really know what to do. I hadn't had a game-winning touchdown so I mean, probably wouldn't be able to do it without my teammates blocking for me, o-line and special teams. They do a great job so just have to be thankful for them," said Estevez.

"Some weeks he's quiet because we don't need him as much and other guys are making plays and he's never a guy about himself," said head coach Dan Dicenzo.

"He's always a guy about the team. Since he's been here, just any way that he knows what we're doing and we can get him the ball, that's something we want to do," he added.

The annual contest between Wesleyan, Amherst College and Williams College has been documented since 1910. Wesleyan has won 15.
