Boykin Commits to Huskies for 2015

Late last month, De’Janae Boykin, a 6-3 forward from Maryland, made an official visit to UConn. On Sunday, she announced -- on social media, of course -- that she will play for the Huskies in 2015. The Maryland Gatorade Player of the Year is ranked No .8 in espnW's top-60, just behind Napheesa Collins, who made an oral commitment to UConn in April.

As a junior, Boykin averaged 21.1 points and 16.7 rebounds, and she has range from behind the arc. Her other finalists had included UNC, Penn St., Virginia and Tennessee

Boykin will take part in the USA Basketball 3x3 U-18 national tournament from May 30-June 1, and her teammates will be Collier and Katie Lou Samuelson, who also visited Storrs last month along with Haley Gorecki.

The Huskies' incoming freshman class includes Gabby Williams (5-11, Nevada), Sadie Edwards (5-9, New Jersey), Courtney Ekmark (6-0, Arizona) and Kia Nurse (5-11, Canada).

And Erin Boley, a 6-2 sophomore forward from Hodgenville, Kentucky, has UConn on her short list after making her second unofficial visit to campus recently.
