Cochran Named AAC Player of the Week

It took more than two months, but the Huskies finally played winning football. In fact, they finished the season on a three-game winning streak after a 0-9 start, and redshirt freshman quarterback Casey Cochran saved his best for last. Named the starter for the final four games, he set a school-record with 461 passing yards in the season finale 45-10 victory over Memphis. The performance included completing 36-of-54 passes and four touchdowns, and was 16 yards better than the previous mark set by Dan Orlovsky in 2004.

Oh, and Cochran, who threw for 1,293 yards, 11 touchdowns and 4 interceptions on the season, was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

And he wasn't alone when it came to recognition.

Senior kicker Chad Christen won Special Teams Player of the Week after converting a 46-yarder against Memphis and making all six of his extra points. He led the team with 57 points this season.

Meanwhile, wide receiver Geremy Davis earned a Weekly Honor Roll mention after hauling in a school record 15 receptions for 207 yards and a touchdown.
