The book "Dirty Water" is billed as a Red Sox Mystery, but the book contains plenty of facts. It's authored by Connecticut native Mary-Ann Tirone Smith and her son, Jere, who are third and fourth generation Red Sox fans.
Jere Smith is a blogger and there is a running blog throughout the book about the Red Sox 2007 World Championship season.
The book is also loosely based on facts about baseball agent Gus Domingos who smuggled Cuban ballplayers into the United States.
