DeAndre Daniels was a second-round pick of the Raptors last month, and like most other rookies, he's taking part in the NBA Summer League. The former UConn standout spoke recently about transitioning to the professional game.

On moving from power forward in college to small forward in the NBA. "That's what I've been working on since I was in high school," Daniels said, and I played (small forward) in college some a little bit ... but I'm just a basketball player. Whatever the coaching staff tells me to do I'm going to do it."

Lessons of facing much better competition from one game to the next. "It's definitely a learning experience, just learning how to play the game that's different from college -- different spacing and just trying to learn all the defensive techniques, guys helping and rotating. I feel like that's what we need to focus on more."

Last weekend, Daniels and the Raptors played in Las Vegas and in three games Daniels scored 7, 12 and 16 points. According to SB Nation's UConn Blog, Daniels could be shipped off to Europe to gain some much needed experience.
