This game looked a lot more interesting when the schedule came out last spring, but it's still a pretty big deal for both the Broncos and the Patriots. With a win, Denver can extend their lead in the AFC West over the schizophrenic Chargers; New England, now down a running back, could use a confidence boost after Bill Belichick thought it would be really funny to replace future Hall of Famer Tom Brady with lifetime backup Matt Cassel.
Or as Emmitt Smith said during ESPN's pregame festivities: "Cassel is not the statesman or the leader in the locker room right now." Sadly, a point with which I can not disagree ... because I have no idea what it means.
