Kashif Moore Signs With Texans

It's been a roller coaster 11 months for former UConn wide receiver Kashif Moore, who shined at last February's NFL Combine and the Huskies' pro day the following month, only to go undrafted in April. But Moore signed with the Bengals, the first of four stops in his first NFL season.

On Wednesday, the New Jersey native joined the Texans' practice squad.

“It’s definitely just a blessing,” Moore said via CSNHouston.com. “To get the opportunity to be here is great. To be able to help this team in any way with them in the playoffs is great.”

Moore was released by the Chargers on Dec. 12 and had returned to New Jersey when the Texans called.

During his UConn career, Moore hauled in 126 passes for 1,699 yards and 13 touchdowns. Despite going undrafted last April, nearly half the league showed interest in signing him as an free agent. He settled on Cincinnati but was released prior to the final preseason game after registering just one catch. He was quickly snatched up by the Colts, a young, WR-needy team, but Moore was released and signed to their In October, he landed in San Diego, where he stayed through mid-December.
