UConn freshman Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis likes college. We don't know that to be fact, but based on the first nine games of her basketball career at UConn we feel comfortable making that leap. She has yet to start, but already leads the Huskies in scoring (15.9), is fourth in rebounds (5.3), second in 3-point percentage (.406) and tied for first in minutes played (29.6).

Oh, and for the fourth week in a row, Mosqueda-Lewis has been named the Big East Rookie of the Week. The Huskies are 2-0 in that span, defeating Texas A&M and Seton Hall. And although KML's numbers in those game were below her season average (14.5 points, 3.5 rebounds), they were still impressive -- and if anything, a testament to just how well she's played through the first month of the season.

Heading into fall, UConn's freshman class was considered one of the best in the country.  So far Mosqueda-Lewis is proving it all by herself. But Kiah Stokes and Brianna Banks, the other two players in the 2011 recruiting class, are contributing, too.

Stokes is averaging 3.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in 13.4 minutes a game; Banks comes in at 4.8 points and 1.6 assists in 14.8 minutes.

The Huskies are off for final exams, but return to the court on December 18 when they travel to Waco to face top-ranked Baylor in a primetime matchup on ESPN.
