NBA Draft a Month Away for Kemba Walker

Kemba Walker was honored at the White House last Monday with the rest of his Huskies teammates. It was the final chapter in one of the best careers in UConn basketball history. From Washington, D.C., Walker made his way to Chicago for the pre-draft workouts like so many other NBA hopefuls.

As one of the hardest working and most important players to ever come through Storrs, Walker's NBA Draft journey offers a respite from all the recent not-so-good news about the Huskies basketball program. So with that in mind, here's the latest on where Kemba might begin his professional career, as well as enough video interviews from Chicago to keep you occupied for the rest of the work day. You're welcome.

First, SB Nation updated its mock draft and here's the lowdown on this week's possible Kemba landing spot:

5. Toronto Raptors: Kemba Walker, PG, UConn

The Raptors' job should be easy if the Jazz pick a point guard at No. 3: Toronto simply takes the other one. But in the event Utah picks Kanter or Valanciunas, Bryan Colangelo will almost assuredly be able to choose his weapon. Brandon Knight, the youngest player in the draft and a more traditionally-sized NBA guard, could be the pick. But Toronto desperately needs leadership, and it's easy to imagine the Raptors' braintrust convincing themselves that Walker is the right fit for the long-term.

Previous mock drafts had Walker also going in the top 10, but other destinations included Sacramento and Washington.

From the looks of it, Walker spent as much time doing interviews in Chicago as he did going through the paces. A sampling, via The UConn Huskies blog.
