Video: Scott Walker apparently doesn't follow ‘Queensbury Rules'

In a game that devolved into a literal slugfest with 67 penalty minutes doled out, one bit of controversy came toward the end of the third period as winger Scott Walker(notes) of the Carolina Hurricanes and defenseman Aaron Ward(notes) of the Boston Bruins got into a disagreement, likely about who's going to win "Hell's Kitchen" on Thursday night.

Walker went for the jersey-pull/punch combination and landed a straight shot to Ward, who crumpled to the ice:

For his actions, Walker was given a 10-minute misconduct, five minutes for fighting and two more for instigating. There's no need to ask whether or not a suspension is coming for Walker, because, well, it's not worth expending the energy trying to figure out the NHL's thought process on these sorts of things anymore.

The Bruins survived to see another game with a 4-0 victory in Game 5 thanks to Phil Kessel's(notes) two goals and Tim Thomas(notes) stopping 19 Hurricane shots. There will be plenty of lingering emotions heading into Game 6 on Tuesday night, but with Boston's backs against the wall, the Bruins might want to take a page out of Pittsburgh's book of revenge and temper their desire for retribution -- instead focusing their energy on extending their season and avoiding a disappointing end to such a promising year.
