The Shibutani siblings are showing the world that they are ice dancers to pay attention to.
Maia and Alex Shibutani, former Greenwich residents who go by the nickname “Shib Sibs,” made their Olympic debut on Sunday and gave a high-energy, fun and impressive performance.
Maia, 19, and Alex, 22, came in ninth in the short program, behind Americans Meryl Davis and Charlie White, who came in first and Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, of Canada, who came in second.
On Monday, they came in ninth in the finals, close on the heels of fellow Americans Madison Chock and Evan Bates, who took eighth.
The Shibutanis skated to a Michael Jackson medley, which included “Wanna Be Starting Something,” “Man in the Mirror” and “Thriller.”
From the very beginning, they showed that they truly have fun on the ice.
However, the commentators commented that they were a bit more conservative in their performance than on Saturday and lacked some of the energy they had during the short dance segment.

Throughout the Olympic games, the former Greenwich residents who now live in the Midwest, have been using social media to communicate with their thousands of fans.

They have also used it to provide behind the scenes views of the Olympics to their followers and celebrate their fellow Olympians.
