Dressel Breaks Olympic Record, Team USA Wins Notable Silvers: Tokyo Olympics Day 9 in Pictures

Multiple records were broken on the ninth day of competition out of Tokyo

The ninth day of competition out of Tokyo were heavy with personal, Olympic and world records broken from the pool to the track. The USA's own Caeleb Dressel broke an Olympic record in the men's 50-meter freestyle, netting his fifth gold from Tokyo.

Hannah Roberts took home the first medal for Team USA in BMX freestyle with her second-place win, while Katherine Nye broke a 21-year-long dry spell for the United States with her silver-medal win in weightlifting.

Venezuela's Yulimar Rojas smashed a 26-year-long world record in triple jump, as Italy's Lamont Jacobs became the fastest man alive with his gold-medal performance in the men's 100m race.
